The internet and video games are integral new technologies in the lives of young people and it is important that we educate ourselves about the benefits and dangers they bring.
The Byron Review looked at the evidence on the risks to children’s safety and well-being as a result of exposure to potentially harmful or inappropriate material on the internet and in video games.
This summary briefly looks at the benefits and risks associated with the Internet and video games. It also provides recommendations for the Government, the internet industries, organisations that work in the area of children and safety and also schools, to help young people be safe online.
The full version of the review is also available from this site (ref: DCSF-00334-2008).
